My vision is to inspire kids to inspire other kids less fortunate than themselves. I aspire to having a positive impact in this world for the sake of kids and the communities in which they belong. I want to be the kind of artist who uses their resource and influence in ways that make the world a better place for our kids, and to inspire, strengthen and inject hope into the community in which they live.
I aspire to being the visionary, the catalyst, the conduit who brings kids together, inspiring and empowering them to value and love each other. I don't live so as to make music or produce creative projects... though they are a creative means to a valuable end. However, I do live so as to let people know that they are valued and much-loved... and importantly for some, to let them know that they are loveable...!
My belief is that...
Kids need strong and caring communities in order to flourish and reach their fullest potential. Kids can bring transformation and positive, long-lasting impact to the lives of other kids in their communities in ways that "grown-ups" and "grown-up systems" may never do. Figuring out how to inspire kids to inspire kids less fortunate than themselves, and in so doing, to build stronger communities... now that's a creative and life challenge that could keep me awake many a good night...!
How to make the vision tangible though...?? Hmmmm.
I don't have all the answers right now. All I know is that I just have to start somewhere and look for opportunities at every twist and turn in the road ahead as my life unfolds and my platform as RiverSally grows. And importantly... start in my own backyard with what I can do...!
